BUT... i will say that NO, you're not exactly being REALISTIC... and YES, you are being UPTIGHT, if you honestly think you can't live comfortably unemployed on $100,000/year. living off of $100,000/year doesn't mean you'll be eating $5 fast food specials everyday, riding the bus, and living in a 1 bdrm apt. not even close.
if you read all my post again, you'll realize that none of this reflect any of the statements i've made so far.

it's not my fault that the threads have some interesting real world stuff that people take seriously. it's annoying that most people these days would rather just be oblivious and joke/say whatevers all day long.
i'm not complaining. i, for one, am a fan of your threads.

so with that said, that last post was mostly joking... and also me just wondering if maybe i'm wrong to want to own a ferrari when i can look back on my life and see that the times i was happiest were the times when i had the least amount of responsibility (...and no money.)
how can you even presume that you are happiest when you had the least amount of responsibilities and no money, when you haven't lived the live where are a real estate mogul and own a ferarri?? you're making a comparison based on experiences that hasn't happened yet.

first of all, this thread is not "ruined". i believe, we are generating a healthy discussion here. besides, i was merely responding to what the person i quoted said, and i don't think my response was in any way inappropriate as a response to what she said. besides, dyhappy's thread always somehow become quasi serious bitter discussions, so this really isn't deviating from the norm.

secondly, if you really feel college is the best years of your life, then i feel sorry for you.

thirdly, if you don't enjoy the career that you choose to go into, then i feel sorry for you again. sure i understand some people do not choose to go into the careers they end up in, and i can understand how they are unhappy with work.
i dont need ur pity. i have one of the best jobs EVER. if i wasnt working, i would be doing more or less the same thing i do at work. so it works out well.

however, how can u even begin to compare work to college. college there are no responsibilities, u wake up when u feel like it, dont have to worry about money (i understand some people work during skool), party every night, co eds living right next to you that are down to "party". i dunno bout ur college experience but mine was a blast (i regret no staying a 5th or 6th year, but my parents were on my ass). man i used to love drinking natty and popov. i might actually pity u.

u are way too serious. go down telegraph and visit one of the "clubs" and chill out in oaksterdam already.

when people say "mature" i can't help but think that's another word for boring and crotchety. sounds like you've lost your spirit of adventure. when people get older, they dont have to have tons of responsibility. they choose it. take on a big mortgage, have a couple kids, send em to stupid private school, etc. those are all choices and bad ones, imo. staying in nice hotels and drink expensive poison sounds nice, but it's like ur using it make u feel temporarily better about an otherwise sucky life.
i'm sorry. that statement is just naive and insulting. from what i remember, i think you are under 21, so i'll forgive you for that statement. the bottom line is that if you haven't lived the "older" and more "mature" life, then how can you talk about it?? it's just like i can't talk about being a middled aged person or a senior citizen, cuz i haven't lived that part of my life yet, and so i have no first hand experience.

all i can say is reread my posts within the context of the discussion, cuz you guys are just putting words in my mouth. my whole point was that as a person gets older and matures, his tastes, needs, and wants also changes with him. thus what satisfies, excites, or thrills a person when he is in his college years may not necessarily satisfy him as he becomes older, and given that c-unit is a college student and what she said in her post, you'll realize that the statements i made were appropriate within the context of the discussion.

and please stop passing judgement and presume that i am a super serious person just because i choose to be serious on this particular topic. obviously, you haven't read my silly posts in other threads.

i didn't mean it to be insulting. what part of it is incorrect? fyi, i wish i was under 21, but no cigar.

trainwreck, no need to keep beating around the bush. what job do you keep not talking about?
