The top gear run was all they "had room for" The runway was simply not long enough. The mclaren was tested on a top speed track.

 

Isn't that kinda what I said? Basically, I just haven's heard or seen a production car go faster than the McLaren, so until I do, that's the fasted car I've ever seen....

And also, what's the definition of a production car...? Some say that over 100 retail models must have been made, and if the case, I've heard somewhere that the McLaren only made like 62 F1s.... truely agreed, too many variables to have a definitive answer, I think.

McLaren F1 LM atm is still fastest i believe... Cadillac is coming out with I think it was called the Four-Twelve thats supposed to do 250 max, and is basically an ezno eater...

In the end it's any super car is pretty much rediculously fast...

 

Officially, fastest refers to Top Speed, and "is" refers to now, otherwise she probably would have said something like "what's the fastest production car ever".

In this light, here's how things stack up:
