while torching the marine van he then somehow lit himself on fire during the process and burned himself, got severe burns and is in critical condition dumbass.....I hope he pays for damages for the van government property. Think about the other soldiers who have sacrficed their lives, did there parents do anythign crazy?? He should be proud of his son not stupid.

Yeah, I agree. Losing a family member is always heart-breaking, but doing something stupid or harmful is just not justifiable.

Given the circumstances I don't think the guy should have to pay for the van. It was a "heat of the moment" event, the guy was not in the right state of mind and understandbly so. He lost his son who was only 20 years old. The government has plenty of vans, they buy them in bulk. I would be willing to bet the military holds no ill will towards the father and if he is required to pay for the van I would be seriously suprised. There are more serious criminals to prosecute.
