Never seen nor heard of it. I only know so much about bourbon because of a friend of mine. He's a hard-core bourbon fan and somewhat of a snob about it and 'regular whiskey'.

Woodford Reserve - a very, very nice Bourbon
Bombay Gin - makes a very tasty martini

I'm getting an education here. Nice!
Here's a drink my Seattle buds created and it should be illegal. A good date drink that I've tried to get my wife to try but she's wise. Damn!

1 shot good tequilla
1 shot Gran Marnier
1.5 shot margarita mix
1 shot orange juice
Shake in ice shaker and pour with or without salt. Delicious and POW! You've got your drink on!

Anybody ever try a Mint Julip? Are they good? Am looking for poolside cool and delicious Summer drinks to add to my collection.
Word?

Rip Van Winkle 12 year (when I can find it) or
Anchor Distillery's Old Potrero (when I can afford it)

Deschutes Brewery's Black Butte Porter for beer

1963 Quinto Do Noval (had it once - but I can still have it in my dreams).

The Seattle drink has been cloned down here in the Yay as well (silly computer geeks. . . ) I highly reccommend it.

Points on Mint Juleps
1. Good Bourbon (start with at least Knob Creek or comparable)
2. Fresh Fresh mint
3. lotsa ice - crushed and super super dry
4. a little nutmeg if you got it.
5. sugar on the bottom and/or make your own simple syrup
