Some real interesting picks and favorites... I picked up and read through a bit of Culture Warrior tonite while working. Not really supposed to do that, but meh.

I don't know if anyone's read Dan brown's angels and demons, but supposedly I heard they're making a movie for it.

I've always loved edward hopper. here's a selection of his most famous pieces:

he has an incredible ability to create a sense of emptyness. his work had a huge influence on cinematography in the movie business.

Picasso's "Guernica" is also my favorite painting. Favorite book is "From Beirut to Jerusalem".

Recently found out about Louis Wain in my psych class...

He used to paint cats in anthropomorphic situations (like humans) until he hit full blown schizophrenia in his late 50's...

MC Escher--Drawing Hands

I think this "The Gross Clinic" by Eakins

As for a book, this one by Netter.
Those with a medical background should be fairly familiar with it.
I liked it better than Gray's Anatomy.

I've always like "Starry Night" by VanGogh, but I've never really been into art.

However, I love a good book. My favorites book would have to be "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" by Hunter S. Thompson.

When I was in the hospital the following painting was hanging on the wall. It showed me of a place I wanted be in and gave me the strength to get there.

Funny how an inanimate object hanging on a wall can take you to a better place...

Monet's Garden at Argenteuil

I now have a large print of this hanging in our home.
