Favorite car movie
There's a million movies featuring cars, chases, races, in history... if you think about it, which movie did you enjoy the most?
For me it would be:
Bullitt, with S. McQueen, I can still hear the sounds of that Mustang, although I understand that it wasn't Steve who drove it when they did the recording.
Another is Gumball Rally, good selection of cars and nuts, based on a true event, juicy women, a Ferrari pulls away from a chasing police helicopter.. Not to mention Smokey and the Bandit, a classic, and then there is Grand Prix with James Gardner, good racing action. Herbi(?)the VW, Disney production if you like that sort of movies...I wasn't impressed with the latest Gone in 60 seconds.

I haven't seen too many car movies but I thought the scene with the '67 Shelby GT500 in Gone in 60 seconds was awesome (except for the part where he jumped over lots of stuff on the blocked highway, that was just plain ridiculous) and I loved the part where the nitrous kicked in and he just disappeared.
- Bullit (I live in S.F. and had a Mustang Fastback and I LOVE Chargers)
- Ronin (Insanely great driving)
- Italian Job (Fond memories of my Mini Cooper S)
- American Graffitti (Cruising hotrods and filmed near where I work)
I'm sure there are many out there but these are the only memorable ones for me. Gone in 60secs had it's fun points but not enough and I doubt that upcoming movie "the fast and the furious" will easily be forgotten.
