What's with you guy?
Not one mention of Mad Max or Mad Max 2.
That supercharged XC Falcon coupe was one of the hottest cars I've ever seen in a movie.

Most of my predriver training was watching MM2 over and over again.

Yeh, but he makes his living in CA.. didn't they had Tina Turner in one of those. Now, that's one of the nice things about car fan/nuts clubs, we all enjoy it and no need for a passport.
Gumball Rally (part of which was filmed at the plaza in Orange, CA, where I lived at the time)
Raul Julia has the best line from any car movie: (As he rips the rearview mirror off the Daytona and throws it away) "The first rule of Italian racing: What's behind you doesn't matter!"

Hellooo???!!! Cannonball and Cannonball II?
It was Jackie Chan's debut in an American movie. There was a Lamborghini Countach, Ferrari 328 (maybe it was a 308), Mercedes Gullwing, Stretch limo with Tony Danza and the orangatang (sp?), the Toll truck with Joe Theisman, even Gomer Pyle was in it.
Also, most of Jacki Chan's movie's have some sort of sports car in it. Thunderbolt, I believe the name of the movie, had a Skyline, Supra, 3000GT, EVO, and other nice Japanese sports cars in it. There was a big track race at the end of the movie.

Neatest car movie: Gumball Rally - a Cobra and a Daytona go head to head. Plus the second best exchange in the movie: (the Ferrari owner talking to his rival, who owns the Shelby Cobra)
Smith: So what is this, a vintage car?
Bannon: Well Smitty, some things get meaner as they get older.
Best Chase Scene: To Live and Die in LA, followed closely by Ronin. I agree with the consensus that the Ronin chase is great, but think back to TLAD in LA - just awesome.
There is supposedly an old (60's-70's) home movie around somewhere where a crazy French guy straps a movie camera to the hood of his Ferrari and drives around Paris at high speed. If you know what I'm talking about, please PM me. I've heard about this from several people, but never seen it.
By all accounts, if Steve McQueen didn't do the driving, he easily could have...
