He was a genius. A risk taker, a fearless critic of power, and a great writer. He had a nice run. May he rest in peace.

I don't think he was much more than a slightly crazed egomaniac with a typewriter, but sad to see he took his own life.

 

This came as kind of a shock to me (I think). I was personally a fan of his eccentricity, but there are those who weren't. Love him or hate him, another American icon has passed on. RIP.

Unfortunately for his family, friends, and fans I think he finally got fed up with the bullshit.
