finalized RX-8
I'm wondering how much of an audience it would have? The similarieites to the S2000 are eerie. Same layout, same general body shape, same general styling, same headlights, same dual exhaust, same brake ducts, similar HP, same high-revving engine philosophy... If somebody wanted such a car, wouldn't they have already purchased an S2000? To the Mazda fans, the new RX-8 is about as close to the 3rd gen RX-7 as, well, the S2000 is. <scratch head> I don't get it.
Oh, wait, this is a four-seater, isn't? With rear suicide doors, like the Saturn? I wonder how big those seats are. The 911 has four seats, but there's no way you'd fit somebody older than 9 back there.
So, basically, I'd call it a four-seater, hard-topped S2000. *shrug*
ps - I like the way it looks.

I like it. Wonder how many Mazda fans who opted for the S2000 will trade up.
However, it seems to me this car will appeal more to people who somehow feel like they need a little more storage space, or small back seats for their kids. The S is a no-compromise technology-oriented car. This a a techno car too, but it's all about compromise with its 2 extra doors and back seats.
I don't have kids yet, and my wife has a sedan, so the choice would be clear
