the DaVinci code is a work of fiction. Dan Brown does seem to get a lot of mileage out of involving the Catholic Church in a whole lot of nefarious dealings, but he is hardly the first. It really does seem like he was beat up by an altar boy when he was young or something
The funny thing is people think somehow his books are true stories or something. Kinda like quoting ET as proof that the gov't. is covering up alien landings
Many of the "facts" in DaVinci code are fictions, and from my perspective, he ignores many real facts while inventing others to move the plot. For example, why is Mary, "Mother of God," never once mentioned in his book? Seems like that would be prime material for the whole "divine feminine" if there ever was any. Any Catholic Church has numerous images of her, and it would blow great holes in his premise that the Catholic Church tries to villify all women.

send out mauraders to rape and pillage other countries for their gold in the name of god? elevate their "holy" leader to the status of god himself?

why? does the book talk about homo catholic priests that molest boys? send out mauraders to rape and pillage other countries for their gold in the name of god? elevate their "holy" leader to the status of god himself?

I have several friends and relatives who are all catholics, have read the books (DVC & A&D) and loved them both. /shrug/
