[QUOTE=Spa02S2K,Mar 28 2005, 04:11 PM] [COLOR=blue]That fact that the prefix page before the story starts it states all facts containted in the book are TRUE.... so how could that make someone beleive what he wrote was true??

BTW I am a Catholic and I loved the books... I have several friends and relatives who are all catholics, have read the books (DVC & A&D) and loved them both.

personally i didn't like it that much. i read it because i read Digital Fortress and I liked that book a lot. sadly, the Da Vinci code's plot was practically the same.

I think it's just a wave, and everyone is getting caught up in it. it's a nice work of fiction pretty much. there are little tidbits of reality here and there, but mostly it was just a made up story whose ending was sadly not as good as I was expecting.

maybe i'm too hard, but it was definitely hard to finish because it was just so predictable, especially if you have read other Dan Brown books.

What? How was the plot similar? An unbreakable encryption code vs Mary wife of god? Not sure I see the connection.

Frankly, I thought Deception Point was his best book, but that may be because I used to work for NASA and can see that kind of BS happening in real life. Well, that and I'm kinda drunk at the moment.

I read DaVinci Code first. Very fun read. Angels and Demons next - liked it as well. Digital Fortress was a good read but I didn't enjoy it as much as DVC or A&D.

Will have to try Deception Point now.

i'll have to read them both again, but when I read the Da Vinci Code I felt like I could predict the book because I had read Digital Fortress.

the big one I remember is that Brown wants you to think a guy is the "good guy", but he is actually the one behind all of this.

they aren't the same "plot" so to speak but they are VERY similar in how they structured.
I can see that. He's not the best author I've read, but definately not the worst. His "religious" books (A&D, TDC), which I understand come (somewhat) from his personal beliefs, are somewhat hokey to me. But I really liked Deception Point and Digital Fortress.

Green Eggs and Ham, best book I ever read. Seriously. Could not see that plot twist at the end coming though.

All facts are true; that's the definition of "fact".
