OK, so this isn't what you think.. let me preface this post with an admittance to things which you may suspect at the end of this post..

First of all, I am a computer geek, a car geek, and not much else.. I know alot of stuff about verious topics and generally consider myself knowledgable about the world. I suck with women.. My first girlfriend I found on the net and chatted with her for a while and met her.. I concluded that you don't meet women on the internet.

On with the show.. Today, one of my friends just got married with a woman he met through love.aol.com.. on my way to the wedding I was worried because I forgot (!) to buy a gift and because I don't know how to wear a tie.. So I went tieless. I drove my new yellow stook along the shore to the Gulf of Maxico about a half hour to get to the chapel.. top down.

I finally find the place, and see a silver MR2 sitting in the parking lot. I think to myself, "I wonder who owns that!".. and proceeded to park my car, and head to the ceremony. I arrived lated, and the ceremony was half over, however, I snuck in and no one but the photographer and the priest noticed.

Once the ceremony ended, there was a lengthy session of people getting up in order and leaving (starting with the front working back.. I was in the far back!) So at this point I am thinking that I want to find out who owns the MR2 (the car geek in me..) so I can strike up a conversation. I looked around the corner and noticed that it was still there - good.

I proceeded to head back to my stook and took off.. slowly.. keeping an eye on the MR2. No one was moving toward it so I gave up hope.. I backed out, and drove away slowly.. Just as I was driving away, I noticed a woman got in the car.. by herself! "Wow", I think to myself.. a single woman, in an MR2?

I drove off to the reception, which was located about 25 minutes away. When I arrived I sat down at my assigned table and waited.. I started talking with the strangers at my table.. Finding out how they were all connected to the bride and/or groom...

Then, an average hieght, black haired woman walked in, in a tight pink dress.. she sat down at my table.. It was the woman in the MR2! So we get to talking about cars ... cause im a car geek...

Several hours later (after the conversation shifted many many times) she says "I want to go check out your car!" .. so we go out and get in the car.. I lower the top and she gets in and we go for a spin. (Today is my first day over 600 miles, so I was high on VTEC) We get out of the community that the reception is in, and I take off. We get up to 90 and we are pulling up fast on another car, she says "darned car!".. Heh heh

We go back and she lets me drive her MR2.. but this isnt a car review, so I wont go in to depth..

After the reception is over, this woman, her sister, me and the best man decide to go out for drinks. I meet them at a bar and we talk for a while another hour or so.. By now it's 12, and we decide to go to another bar. Once we get there she is giving me her phone numbers, email address, etc.. (3 phone numbers even!!) I give her my cell number ..

A couple hours later (about an hour and 45 minutes ago) we all go to a hotel room where she is staying and talk for a while.. I decided to leave, but she kept saying that we should hang out together, and to give her a call tomorrow.

That's the story of my night.. I am very happy now, and had to share my story.

I think she thinks I am a stud because I got mad VTEC powers, yo.. or maybe that's just the car geek in me thinking that?

HAHAHA. Cool story!

The only draw back is that she's got no taste in cars, buying that MR2 j/k! Sounds like a match made above, best of luck with it.
Kinda freakish tho giving you 3 #s and email.

cjb,

Nice going. That's a great story, but what do you mean you don't know how to wear a tie? What do you do at interviews, dinners at nice restaurants, funerals, graduation, etc?

Very nice! One word of advice. If you DON'T know how to tie a tie, don't wear a clip-on!

Great story...thanks!

Great Story! You're past the hard part AND you've got something in common. Plus maybe you can work in a topless reference if you get stuck on how to "make a move" like Jackie Jr. did last night on Sopranos (Spells "ass" playing scrabble with Meadow and then asks if he can 'get some').
