Default Finding a plane ticket to Europe

I am killing myself here to find a flight to europe for June-20 to July 30. I was trying to book a flight from BA for 710 I found, but by the time i got my freind, the price went up to 900. The flights are fluctuating like crazy. I can fly into any country and out of any country in europe. I can also fly out of either JFK or IAD. Any of you guys know any secrets to finding deals to europe? I have to find mysefl in the The Hague by the 23rd, so as long as I can catch a flight from that country to AMS, i am fine. Thanks for any help guys, I'm sure there are some people on here that have travelled far more than me. Im trying to find as cheap a flight as possible. Thanks.

I've heard that if you search in the early morning hourse (1-5 am) there tends to be better prices.....

also by the end of the month the prices go up.

i'm not 100% sorry!!

I found this on google.. http://airfare.michaelbluejay.com/

I suggest when you see one price open up a completely different window and try again... see if it comes out cheaper. Check different cities...

Also fares in Summer are going to be a lil pricey. I just bought some to Italy is and it was roughly $650ish...

why don't you try a travel agent? That is what they do.

Because I have to pay for 6 weeks in Europe... Don't want to pay extra for a plane ticket when i can search the web to get one.

Prices are always hig at this time of the year. I booked tickets to Ireland in August for $700 each, including all the taxes, which were $135 of that $700.

I think the best site out there at the moment is www.sidestep.com
It searches all the popular sites for you and came up with the lowest price for me.
Once I get a price, I always go to the airline's own website to make sure it's not cheaper directly from the source. Sometimes you can save an extra $10-$20 that way.

I just ran a search on sidestep from JFK to London, and there's an Air India flight for $768 on those dates. That's the cheapest, but there are a bunch for $861 right after that. A flight to Frankfurt is $928.

so you can afford to go to Europe for 6 weeks, but are worried that a travel agent that has access to evey flight from anywhere in the world to anywhere in the world is going to cost you a few bucks more than spending hours upon hours of your own time on the internet, "killing yourself?" WTF? Save yourself the hassle, hire a professional to find you a cheap flight, and get on with living your life already. Contrary to popular belief, there is no great deal to be had on the internet that isn't available to travel agents before you ever saw it. And a travel agent has the advantage of a system specifically designed for finding and booking flights. If you can't afford a travel agent's minimal service fee, you can't afford 6 weeks in Europe either.

But go ahead and try to save a few bucks by doing it yourself.
