Default First Aid Kits - Where to buy/What should they include

I don't have a real first aid kit in my house or car and thought it would be a logical thing to get. I'm not thinking armegeddon, but I would like to be prepared for the occasional accidents.

Any suggestions on either pre-packaged kit or a listing of what a basic kit should include, home and car, would be appreciated.

Also, my friend just purchased a small boat. I was going to get him a couple of life preservers and a first aid kit. Same question, what should the kit include for a small day boat.

Thanks in advance.

Michael
