Default First Night of Dodgeball

So tonight we played our first game of dodgeball and it was awesome. Nobody on my team has played in 10+ years, since we were in little school. You play matches non-stop for an hour and it is the most killer workout I've had in a long time.

At the end of our time we were tied 9 matches to 9 with one guy on either side. Whistle blew and we went into over time and everybody was back out on the court for sudden death, first team to get a player hit is out. We all ran up to the center line and grabbed balls and this one guy threw the ball at me lightly because I'd gotten knocked out twice earlier for dropping my ball and catching his. You can't give up possession of your ball for another without throwing yours across the center line. So this time I threw mine across the line and caught his and he was out. This is SUCH a fun game.

I thought dodgeball in a local social sport league would be a big joke, but I totally recommend it to people looking for a really good workout and way to meet up with new people. Everybody's muscles are wicked sore from using ones we don't often in normal gym workouts.

We all went for beers and wings after with the other team and they're a good bunch of folks. Free pitcher and 20 wings for each team at a few different pubs around the city on game nights, plus 40% off drinks and food for the rest of the night!

Just thought I'd share my positive experience

Mike

Don't think too hard. You might hurt yourself.
