Yeah, lightweight is generally going to be easier for a lot of tricks, although some people get crazy with the weight-reduction and it isn't really necessary.
If you're just getting into it, any complete flatland bike set-up would get you through for a while until you decided if you wanted to spend more money on it and start customizing the bike to fit your style more. Check out flatlandfuel.com, they have pretty much everything you'd need.
