"The Flight before Christmas"
OK, so I am an old cranky fuddy duddy. But I enjoy the old classic Christmas specials. Charlie Brown Christmas, definately Rudolf the Red Nosed Raindeer, just about any of the old stop motion ones.......
Anyway, my wife wants to watch a couple the other day and they are making some new modern ones. We watch Rudolf, it kicks ass. Yukon Cornelious, misfit toys, the whole deal.
Then comes this new one called "The Flight before Christmas." Now here is the premise: Some young reindeer does not know his father. He is told by his mother that his father is one of Santa's reindeer, and she only met him once, they hooked up, and bingo he leaves town and this little one is born. Ok so we got a hoochie reindeer giving it up a one nighter to some baby daddy.
This little reindeer makes his way to Santa's village and none of the reindeer will own up to the illegitimate kid, and as a subplot, there is a pack of evil wolves that is on there way to Santa's pad to EAT SANTA. I sh*t you not......
Is this retarded or is it just me? I kind of wonder what kind of TV execs were in the room when the idea was pitched and they said "Yeah, sounds like an instant classic!"
Ok, rant over.

Although I watched "Prep and Landing" on ABC (I think), and it was actually pretty good.
But Flight Before Christmas could have easily written in a scene where are the reindeer are doing paternity tests on a Jerry Springer show and it would have fit right in to the story.
One of the main voices in the show was Norm McDonald. Man, he really needs a new agent.

What do you guys think about "Shrek the Halls" and "Merry Madagascar"? I worked on both and thought they turned out pretty good, but I'm probably biased. My son isn't old enough to tell me if he likes them or not and I was wondering if you or your children actually liked them.
