floor jack problem
hello, i have a craftsman racing jack like pictured here, http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?...000&tab=ser#tab
its low enough to fit under my car without any hastle and it usually works great. i got it over a year ago and when i first got it the 4th or 5th time i used it it stopped lifting with any power, i could pump on it all day and not raise 100lbs, let alone 1000. yes i turned the handle all the way tight then backed off and tried again but it didnt work so i took it back and got a new one for free....the same thing is happening with this one now, but its out of warranty. i looked around to see if i could add fluid and all i saw was 2 "do not adjust" screws. what makes me think there is a leak is the jack worked fine untill i picked up the jack to move it (it usually sits on the floor) anyone have any idea on what to do? maybe take it to a hydrolic service or something? let me know thanks.

I have that exact same Craftsman jack. It sounds like you have air in the hydraulics. You probably do not need to add fluid, but rather, remove the air bubbles. Did you follow the bleed procedure when you first got it? The instructions specify it - I guess to make sure all the air is totally out of the system prior to first use. Even if you did the process once, you may need to do it again.
