They'd have to replace alot more than the tires to get me in ANY Ford.

Lets not forget that Venezuala is considering a ban on the sale of the exploder. Even with a brand other than Firestone, they still rolled over.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that an Explorer rolling over isn't entirely the fault of the tires. Scary thing is, Ford seems to have convinced just about everybody that it WAS the tires.

Nobody wants to take the blame when it's something like this.

Good point. I don't know that pointing your fingers at everyone and anyone else is a good thing either, but that seems to be the American way.

Surprised that Ford didn't come out and say "yeah, well, the drivers probably screwed up"

It really does seem like the America way. Part of the whole I'm number one. Dog eat dog mentality.

Which is really sad...

If Ford had come out and said 'the rollovers were due to numerous causes, one of which was a flawed design, and they were tragic.... blah blah blah... we have fixed the design flaw in the new 2002 model blah blah blah' it would have been just as good for them.

I may be in the minority on this one... I hate SUVs no matter how you look at it...
