For those that can afford the tax, they can just sell it off and profit the difference. Not such a horrible thing.

Had Pontiac/Oprah paid off all expenses and given it to the truly needy, that would've been a different story.

Seems to me like they can't even get it without paying the tax first. So how would the people be able to sell it? The only people who'd be able to profit are the people who have enough money to actually go out and finance the car themselves or buy it cash. Not the people who might actually need any money to be profitted from it.

best marketing event this year, I mean oprah and GM got all A++++ positive press for a few days, shit it was on an s2k board No one hears of the bad side As they say..Nothing is truly ever free.

Shes worth a billion or so I mean fuk she should pay the taxes for the audience I mean that is like .000001% to her in income. She didnt even pay for the cars.

I hate Oprah. That said, I'd be glad to pay the tax to get that car. Then I'd sell it to make a profit.
