Default Free Masons

My roommate recently joined the Free masons here locally. He hardly ever says anything about the meetings or even when he goes. I know it's none of my business, but you would think I'd here about it more but either way i'm still a little mistified about the whole deal. I never plan to really check it out personally but thought I'd ask to see what experiences some of you may have had with friends or family

I believe the whole concept of free masonry is that the meetings are secret and for members only. As a result, they have been used in at least one movie plot, American Treasure, as a somewhat mystical group and have been liked withthe Templar Knights fromthe Crusades. Accept that your roommate is really not at liberty to discuss this and let it go respectfully.

I drive by a Free Mason's building on the way to work everyday. For the past 2 days the place has been PACKED with cars and people around 7:30 am. Is there some kind of event going on that they practice? The place is usually dead.

My friend became a Free Manson a couple of years ago. He was so psyched to get in when the process was underway... Then, he got initiated, and that was the end of that. We kinda respect his association with them, and kid around at the same time... but never really pursued further into his affiliation with them.

He smokes major pot though, I dunno if that is against their ethic's code and conduct. haha
