Default Free remote log in service

Hey guys,

I'm interested in remotely logging into my PC at home from my work PC...

The work PC uses XP and the home PC uses VISTA.

I don't think that would be an issue though, would it?

Can anyone give me some tips for a free software/ service to allow me to remote into my PC at home? I basically want to stream my Itunes music/ movies ETC....

Thanks!

if you are only wanting to stream music/movies, try ORB.

I use ORB to stream music/movies to my PS3/XBOX as well as my WindowsMobile phone from my Vista desktop.

Works a treat too.

I use their free version OFTEN, it's awesome. It does not allow file transfer, audio, remote printing though. You have to upgrade to their pay service for that. However, if audio streaming is what you're after, you can install a media server on your home pc to catalog all your media files and access them from any internet connected device. I use TVersity for that (works great).

Cool, thanks!

I actually have Tversity on my home PC already... so I can stream to my PS3.

If I already have this software on the PC. My guess is that I just have to open access for people outside the network to join...

Can you please tell me which settings I need to tinker with to make this work? thank you!

I've used showmypc in the past, it was decent. Now though I've moved to mac which has other tools so haven't used a windows box for a while.
