I just read an article on Spain, but I don't know if it's true, maybe some of our more international members can verify:

- In Spain, government employees are guaranteed 14 months of salary.

- Spanish people work on the average 4 days a week, and get up to 150 days of vacation.

- In some street interviews, Spanish people (police officers, waiters, theme park attendants) have expressed the same mentality: We work for vacations.

- 5 meals a day (what is Tapas?)!

- 70% of the boys in elementary school would say "soccer player" when asked what they want to be when they grow up. 60% of the girls would say "singer".

Sounds like a great place to work and live!!!

1. Don't know how true that is.

2. They are down to about 38 hour work weeks.

3. Maybe

4. Tapas are traditional spanish food. They are kind of like appetizers. (But much better than just Nachos, and wings)

5. True. (Soccer is the #1 sport in Spain)

Ahhhh!!! I'd love to live there. Especially with an S2K!!!!

You think spain is good...you should try working here in france!
The law dictates that you cant work more than 35 hours per week, and on top of that, out of the 365 days of the year, I only work 200 (and i dont think that im an unusual case out here)

yes, the joys of living in europe...but apart from the 35 hour working week, which admittedly is awesome, dont forget that earlier this year we also had immense floods, foot and mouth disease, and pretty much constant strikes on public transport...

of course, one could view the train strikes as a bonus...they mean you have no alternative BUT to drive...ho hum, its a hard life
