My two closest friends now I was in the same homeroom with all 4 years of high school. I live in Manhattan, one lives in Queens and the third now lives upstate about 4.5 hours away. We are still the closest of friends.....plus I can say about another 5 people I was friends with in high school, I still keep in touch with...you dont stay friends with everyone....people change and lose the same interests or just lose touch. But it also gives you the opportunities to meet new people that may become good friends also

I still keep in touch with my best friends from Junior High. Through we're not as close as we once were we are still friends, and my close friends are still the ones I went to high school with. I guess it depends on how well you hold frienships.

What you have to realize is that your highschool friends are not your friends, they are friends by convenience, highschool is so jaded and diluted you really can't tell your friends from your foes, it's more like a mutual understanding, I'll be your friend for an alotted amount of time, and then ditch you in a couple years... The only friends that will come ouy of high school are the friends you want to keep in touch with, and that will be up to you... As far as college goes, I've made some new friends, but not to a point where I can fully trust anyone, good friends are hard to come by at any point in your life, so if you find one, just hang onto them... I live with a couple other guys on campus so you will share a certain relationship with people that you live with if you live in residence, for better or for worse, you'll have to live with them for 8 months..

I've only kept in touch with 6 or so high school buddies. THe best way, I find, since we live in the tech generation, is internet. Next best is phone.

Yeah I find it hard to really keep friends when big changes happen. Right now I have a friend in Texas, and it's hard to even call him up. I have no idea what he is doing. Things happen, people move on. I got 4 years ahead of me, that 90% of people say it is better than High School and is the most fun part of life. I just hope to get a woman before I leave!

You guys are depressing me. I only have one person who I know from HS who lives locally and we keep in touch. All my other friends disappeared over the years. College was like a revolving door - the local college here had no real social life at all - and my stint in the military a few years after HS graduation put me in college after all my HS buddies were long graduated.

I never thought much of it, until recently when I watched the "American Pie" series of films. It made me wonder what they are doing now and where the heck everyone went to.
