Friggin' UPS...
It's just unbelievable. The complete lack of consideration. I snapped these before I opened the box. After opening, I inspected the lip. It looks good but the corner is scuffed and scratched. I can most likely buff it out but it still frustrates the hell out of me that they have no regard for the products they are shipping. Has this ever happened to you guys?

I ordered a stillen lip for my gf's birthday and it came in a box with about twice as much damage as yours. The lip had scuff marks in several spots, but was fine after paint. It sucked and I was pissed but at the same time I realize most of the people that handle packages are over worked and underpaid- so you can only expect so much.
Where did the part come from and where do you live? I have never had a problem with UPS and prefer them over Fedex. I hate Fedex. All companies have their flaws and have had issues before. I have had Fedex leave a box outside of my house when it was pouring down rain all day (was a cell phone), came home after work and it was drenched. Luckily didn't really get through the phone box inside.
I once ordered a Meade 8" LX200 computerize telescope ($3,000+). I caught the UPS guy kicking the box it came in down our office driveway. I yelled at him "WTF are you doing? Stop!" I got his name, threatened him, signed for it, and yelled in his face "GTFO, asshole!" Fortunately, no damage.

You should yell at the people who just slapped a label on the OEM box and called it done. You see what happens to a mostly empty box of cheap cardboard. They recognized the box wasn't suitable but rather than deal with it, they taped some corners on as if that was adequate. UPS has guidelines for acceptable packing. If the vendor who shipped your lip doesn't care if customers get damaged product, why would you yell at UPS?
Before UPS will pay a claim for damages they will come out and take a picture of the box and internal packing material. I predict they'll deny the claim on your box because it's such a pathetic packing job.
Manufacturers put their products in carboard boxes, stack them on a pallet, and load the pallets into a truck. Those boxes are *not* UPS-approved shipping boxes, they are simply storage. A box sturdy enough for shipping is made from stronger cardboard and has internal packing material to protect the item and help the box remain intact. Your lip should have been repacked in a suitable box with additional packing to fill the box.
I question the story of a UPS driver kicking a box down a driveway as a delivery method. I suspect there's some context missing from the story. I do believe people when they claim to have acted like an ass themselves, however

I ordered some boots to use for hiking from Botach's website earlier this year. They left a slip to redeliver it the next day AFTER 5 pm. UPS came the next day probably around 4:00 and I got home around 4:30 from college. I was on the phone walking around outside and suddenly discovered one of my boots lying on the ground. The UPS driver decided it was a good idea to give my roommate's (at the time) german shepard and husky our packages to use as a chew toy. One boot had been chewed on by the german so I called customer service, the shoe box had been destroyed so they told me to place it in a new box and put it on the porch for pickup after the weekend on Monday. I got a new pair of the boots, and hopefully UPS had to pay for the replacement.
On the slip on the second day it said something like checked box for release, and around the side fence. I have never had a package stolen from the front porch, I have even had a Fedex driver leave me a package under my floormat at my new apartment without it being stolen. I don't know what makes a driver see large dogs approaching them in the backyard and not think twice about tossing (full on throwing it because my roomie's home beer kit was on its side with better packaging next to my destroyed shoe package) it over the fence. I would seriously prefer them to take it to the nearest UPS store if they need a signature and I'm not home.
A note on that website's customer service: the chatter for customer service is absolutely god awful and you never get a response to e-mails/customer service forms on the website, but I have no complaints since my issue was fixed working through UPS's customer service.
(It's always UPS, I'm surprised they dropped a VIS Mugen rep hardtop on my porch that required a signature without actually getting a signature allowing a huge package to sit outside for 3 hours or so before I got home. I've never had a single issue with Fedex that I've had with UPS)

I don't think I've ever gotten a box from UPS that didn't look like that.
One rim company ended up sending me 3 sets of rims and not a one arrived without the rims being bent, but they refused to use another shipper.

USPS pisses me off every time they cram a book into a mailbox. Just got Infinity Gauntlet( was $10.29 on sale)

And the mailman chose to shove it into the mailbox instead of giving it to the office of the apartment complex. The cover is dented and a corner has been bent. It enrages me more when I pay $70-120 for a textbook to find it crammed into a mailbox. It takes effort on their part to drop it on the front porch so they usually forcibly bend packages to make them fit into the mailbox unless its a rare awesome mailman.
