Any pilots out there following this plane's development? It's completely redefining the way we fly, it was something else to see what they're doing in person. The eclipse 500 jet: 350kt cruise speed 41,000ft ceiling, and newer/smarter computer systems than the airliners....all for $850,000...not too shabby

hehehe, it would be worth it man, but nevertheless you'll probably fly in one in the future. These planes are gonna be produced in mass quantities and used as air taxis that can travel directly to the thousands of small cities that don't ever see commercial airliners. Instead of having to fly to the airline's destination schedule, you'll be able to fly to your choice of destination barring a runway is longer than 2,500 ft (which is pretty short actually). http://www.eclipseaviation.com/500jet/images.htm You can check out more pics there.

You know, you could make some moola with that thing! Especially in this day and time when traveling commercial airlines has become so troublesome.

exactamundo! cha ching, these guys are gonna sell more planes than anyone ever has with that kind of affordability. Another cool thing is completing a full engine swap in under 2 hours, lets say you lose an engine to damage. They send you one you can rent by the hour while the one you own is being repaired since they can be replaced so easily getting you back in the air ASAP. All of the avionics are the same way, if anything fails it's all modular systems that are designed to be replaced and not repaired in short time periods in case of problems.
