I think the topic has changed away from my original topic. I was wondering what channels were planning on broadcasting in HD in the near future. I realize that cable and sat companies may wait to carry certain channels, but I didnt know if there was a site that carried this sort of news.

[QUOTE=kadeshpa,Mar 1 2006, 04:27 PM] ^^^ Cable does the same, there's an INCREDIBLE amount of bandwith needed to transmit HD 1080i or 720p and cable needs to compress as well. There really isn't much of a discernable difference between cable/sat.

Verizon FIOS may be able to change things with their end to end fiber optics.

And yes, OTA is your best bet picture-wise, but depending on where you live you may be too far away from a tower.
I concur. I went through the hassel and expense of setting up my OTA antenna and I couldn't be happier.

If I can get a good signal from over 30 miles away with some big hills in the way, anyone can.

FYI we just launched a new Dishnetwork HD satellite 2 weeks ago. Give them a few months to do the on orbit checkouts and whatnot and Dish should be getting better in the HD department. I sure hope so since I have Dish and the HD has left me wanting also.
