I don't think you can as it likely has no line inputs.

Tivo HD only works with cable or an antenna.

I've just gone thru this and Direct and Dish have cut TIVO off. You can only work SD thru TIVO.

I had to take my TIVO back and get Direct DVR

As someone else said, TIVO is only cable and antenna

If the HD DirecTV box has a coax RF output, can't that be connected to the Tivo's RF input? Then use an RF blaster for the Tivo to control the DirecTV box?

You can't output HD through coax. The hardware to re-encode an HD signal is too expensive for something like a tivo. All it can do is receive a digital signal and write it directly to the hard drive. That's what the satellite DVR's do as well.

From www.tivo.com
Does the TiVo HD work with satellite programming?

The TiVo HD DVR is designed for cable and CANNOT support satellite programming. For customers with satellite service, TiVo offers the TiVo Series2 DT in Standard Definition.

Get a CableCard from your cable provider. It can fit into the Tivo HD.

Can I return my HD Tivo and get a regular Tivo that will work with satellite receiver then? I already paid a year of service and don't want to waste it.
