It did remind me of the Modena as well. 0-60 is better than Modena, though. This is a ridiculously low price for such good performance; if everything remains the same, this will be my next car. It seems too good to be true, and I am not keeping my hopes up as I think I would be disappointed.

Maybe it will need Rick Hesel accessories, since it's such a low price.

I think Honda will offer a 400 HP steel bodied NSX for about $55K. Honda is probably tired of seeing the auto magazines demonstrate that the brute force of the Viper consistently trounces the elegant NSX in test results and price. An NSX which will hold its own against the Viper in both price and performance would be really something wonderful. I'm sure Acura dealers have been drooling with envy at the disgraceful markups Honda dealers have been enjoying with their S2000s and can't wait to mark the new NSX up to the $90-100K range, at least at first. I also remember that when the NSX first came out it listed for about $58K, and also remember that the Acura dealer in the San Fernando Valley wanted $90K for the first of those that came out.

And yes... the NSX boards are afire with gruntles of how can Honda undermine there $80K purchases as well as some wishful thinking that the new model will actually increase the value of their handbuilt, mostly aluminum exotica. Even though it's significantly lower performance not to mention not nearly as cool looking!

Acura is not allowed to sell over MSRP. That's what one of the dealers told me. So, I'll call him when I want to buy one, and see what their tune will become. I'm sure I will all of sudden misunderstood his comments.

Anyone heard of transmission for 2003 NSX? Wonder if they'll go with a paddle shifter?

why would they "cringe" when Honda's name is used instead of acura? i don't see any shame in our car being a honda. Honda NSX sounds just fine to me.
