Default General posting pet-peeve

Since I seem to be in a bad mood tonight, I figured I'd post a pet-peeve of mine... (Don't bother checking, I'm probably guilty of it too)

I hate it when someone starts a thread with a subject like:

quick question...
is this bad?
technical question
help!
how do I..... (and finishes in the body)

Not only are non-specific titles annoying, they make it hard to find something you're looking for later on. Of course, I have too much time on my hands as it is, so I read the posts anyway....

"General posting pet-peeve" is not a very descriptive subject is it?

You could have said something like "please make subjects descriptive" or "why aren't subjects descriptive".

If I had known the subject matter of this thread for instance, I wouldn't have bothered reading it.....

Yes, it would be nice if the subject line was a bit more thought out and descripitive of the topic. This way people who are not interested can pass the thread over, and also searches on subject matter would be more effective.

I don't mind, but then again, I've got all the time in the world to read this board.
