getting rid of birds

they are definitely birds because I can see them ocassionally flying in and out of the tree. And plus, when I park my car under the tree there are massive, I mean, MASSIVE amounts of bird crap on my car.

Can't guarantee that this will work for you but try it if it's feasible for you. Collect cat and dog hair. We have 2 cats and a dog - lots of hair at shedding time. Push in clumps of hair into the bush. The birds will see and smell the fur and "possibly" stay away. We do this in our garden each spring when the seeds are planted. It keeps the birds from eating the seeds and the new sprouts that come up.

Also, some birds (crows for example) are attracted to shiney objects, so that may not work. Are the birds migratory? If so, they may just be in stop over mode and may move on. We get huge masses of starlings that go through our area about this time of the year and fill the trees like there's no tomorrow. When they take flight, it goes on for miles. I like the idea of the bid of prey decoy in the tree.
Leave my family out of this!
