Default Getting wisdom teeth pulled sucks

So friday and 10:30 I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled. worst experience of my life. Never experienced pain like this im my life. I would gladly dislocate my hip again before having to do this again. Anyways I was just wondering how long it took some of you to get better. Its been four days and Im still miserable.

i plan on going to sleep for it. did you do local or did you sleep through the procedure? i heard that it would take about a week to get better, and a month before you're completely healed.

Back in college one of my roomates got all 4 pulled and they put him to sleep for it. So I had to go pick him up after still he was still half drugged up. Now this is where it gets good, he is acting like he is completely drunk, yelling out of the car with the top down because he still feels no pain. Then he decides to call his Mom, he proceeds to tell her how "this sh&* is great, my teeth are gone and there is no fu&*ing pain, I feel like I am wasted"

About an hour or two later the drugs wear off and man he was a basket case, yes he had the teeth pulled, but for the next 2 hours he acted as if they hadn't been and probably made it worse. He was out of commission for about 3-4 days on the shake/smoothie/liquid diet. If there is one time in your life when you can get away with eating ice cream every meal for 3 days or so this would be it, so enjoy!!!

I personally had all 4 of mine pulled, but 1 at a time, and can I tell you how great that was...seriously, I was eating normal food 2 hours later each time and virtually no pain. Of course they were not impacted so that helped too.

Anyway, hope you feel better

Personally , I stayed awake during my operation and have to go to another to get the other two pulled. EXTREMELY PAINFUL. My drugs helped my ease the pain, I use a towel over my pillow incase there is a pool of blood on it the next morning.

It took me about 8 days to pretty much stop the swelling and the noticeable pain. I suggest you eat mashed potatoes or rice soup for the first few days as you DONT WANT TO REOPEN THE GUMS. Its also a very painful experience if you do so. Use gauze the entire time youre bleeding to help clogging. Put ice on your cheeks constantly to quickly reduce swelling as I found out too late.

stick to soups for the first week and keep the pain meds on board. it'll take a solid week to get back to normal.

It went super well for me when i had 4 pulled. I never really got much pain, just more of an aching in my mouth. The only reason I took my drugs was because I was bored and figured I might as well fall asleep. I was back working the next day no problem.

I had mine out two at a time. I never had any problems besides some pain right after the drugs wore off. Different people's bodies react differently I guess.

Just be sure to watch out for the dreaded dry socket!

Dude didn't your dentist give you tylenol 3? If not call his ass up and tell him you need some. Typically 1 every 4 hours for 2 or three days would've eliminated the pain. I always take it with three asprin as well. Works like a charm (it's for my hip which I equate with a toothache).I'm assuming your feeling little pain now but if not call him and demand it.
