Man Kronos, SO SO sorry about the loss of your loved one!
One of the Dad's on my street had his heart broken when their family dog died of old age and he have never gotten another since.

That is the only downside of dogs, their lifespan. Our American Eskimo enriched our lives for 16 years!

I also have nothing helpful to add, just introducing Lucy. 7 year old Australian Cattle Dog, adopted her at 8 months, she was horribly abused. she is now spoiled rotten

raj - have fun with your soon-to-be best friend

Good luck raj!

It is hard when they die. My first sheppy was Kyras (my screen name) who died from a reaction to Rymadyl medicine at only 8 years-old. These are the two I have now, Vector and Whiskey.

My wife and I got 2 yellow lab puppies the weekend after Xmas. So much fun, and great to see them getting bigger and smarter by the day!

We (well, OK, just my wife) read a book by the Monks of New Skete called the Art of Raising a Puppy. Very good insight into the psychology of puppy training.

OK, gotta go and play with them now. Good luck!

That book is great because it has pictures of gorgeous German Shepherds. I read it too before I got my first bowser.
