Is there a central organization or # to call to arrange for this kinda thing? I think awareness is the big hurdle here, not ability.

My girlfriend gave blood, I saw the needle, I couldn't look after that. Then she felt sick/dizzy.
I get dizzy when I get a blood test.
I even make them lay me down when they take it so I don't pass out. It's not the pain, it's not the site of blood, I don't know what the hell it is.

You can jab my arm with vaccinations all day so it's not fear of needles.

I don't know what it is.

If I knew I wouldn't pass out 1/4 of the way through I'd give for sure.

When you pass out they stop taking and throw out your blood.

I feel like a giant wuss because of it.

I have only watched them stick the needle into my own arm once. It is like a pointy little shovel (in case anyone wanted to know).... I always thought it was shaped like a ball pump needle.

I like to pretend I am going to pass out when I am leaving....... It was entertaining to the other donors....hopefully....

I am the same way but I don't like needles. I would not call it a fear, but they make me extremely uncomfortable.

When I had a knee surgery they were hooking me up to an IV through the top of my hand, I had them put a towel over my hand so I could not see the big needle.

When I woke up after surgery my eyes first focused on the empty IV bag. I decided in a split second that the needle had no more purpose since the IV was empty and ripped it out before I could take a breath. I just don't like em.

I can (and have) cut myself wide open with a butcher knife, razor blade or a power saw, and watch blood spray out all day long without getting the willies, but needles are a different story.
