I've got to admit that after I hit 35, I started falling apart... maybe Logan's Run had something.
Conservative: YES, but that's not what's driving my responses.
Engineer: YES - It drives me nuts when the "experts" that think that crap up get lumped into the category with actual, conscientious, scientists. The folks that create that story are the snake oil salesman of our time. Misleading many for their own personal gain.

I'm not so sure nature can take care of it. Like nuclear weapons, the agricultural & industrial revolutions are man made and are the direct cause of overpopulation. Nature doesn't have a defense against a nuclear winter, and it just seems logical to me that there's a limited supply of what humans need to survive. I'm not just talking about oil. Plant & animal life, the atmosphere, richness of the soil for farming ( I never researched this one in particular so don't flame
) all affect life on this planet directly.
The "in a million years there will be little trace of humans" is a valid argument but you could say the same thing for any problem we're facing today. Should we just ignore it because we as a species are screwed anyway and nothing can be done about it? It sounds nice but apathy never really did anything for anyone.

I knew cdelena and i would agree on this one.......
what he is saying is that the earth doesn't care whether we are here or not.
"Save the Earth",ect. is not about saving the earth, it is about saving US. We are simply a parasite here........
