Based on what the VA-area S2kers were saying, this is merely another step; and that they've always been this hard-assed.

 

No radar detectors allowed in VA either. Money grubbing bastids! Another Visitors Tax and the reason many people don't visit VA.

 

wow. good thing for me there is absolutely no reason to visit Virginia in the first place

are the state's treasurers mismanaging their funds so horribly that this is what they've been driven to? I've never heard of neighbors Maryland or North Carolina resorting to such inane ideas. even West Virginia's not that stupid

Damn. I'm not sure what's worse.
Street racers getting their car's crushed before there eyes or a $3500 speeding ticket.

 

The tax is only for VA residents - if you're driving through and get a ticket, you're not liable for another state's taxes.

As for VIR, the good news is its on the NC border, so you can drive through NC to get there!
