Default Good Job in college?

Hey guys,

Soon I will be attending college in the pittsburgh PA area. (Pittsburgh Technical Institute) and starting July 25th.

I got an apartment at Chestnut Ridge apartments(very nice) and ill be living with my Gf.

Deal is.. Shes fresh out of cosmetology school and will be getting a job come july 10th or so.

The rents pay for my S2k, all the expenses such as tires, covered garage, insurance and any maintence etc. I will be using a 98 Jeep grand cherokee as a daily driver though.

I need a job to pay the rent, gas, utilities, groceries, Misc stuff that comes up.. also somethings that i havent listed that i forgot about..

I need to know what companies are good to work for when in college????

I looked at UPS mainly which pays 9.50 with about 20 hours a week and only 4-5 hours a day.

I need a job that will pay decently well - 6.50 at least! - and will work around me..

My school schedule is 7:30 am - 12:30 PM

Do you guys know anybody in Pittsburgh or any companies that you worked for while in college that could really help me out???

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!! I will be able to start JULY 1st or end of June!! Im 17 and experienced in retail!

Bartend or waiter. You wont make more money doing anything else, even if you spend twice the time.

Agreed. I waited tables at a fine dining restaurant. It may be tough to get your feet in the door right away to a fine dining place, if you've never served before, but it's a great gig for a college kid. I always had lots of extra money in college. A price you pay for getting home smelling like cigars and filet

Sunglass Hut - You work by yourself, so there's no manager breathing down your neck. Once winter sets in, no one wants sunglasses, so it basically turns into paid study hall. Plus, you get a good discounts on glasses.

Bus boy isnt waiter/bartender. Also, you wont find another job that pays you 300-500 a night cash. Suck it up and look for this job.

Well, I bartend in NYC. NYC isnt like most places, so you might be talking half the money on a good night. If you have a nice restaurant around, and the average tip is 15-18%, you can do very well.

Most good bars in NYC, the bartenders will walk with 400+ easy on a friday saturday night. I know some bartenders that crack 1100 a night on the weekends.
