I don't think you'll find a quote you consider "good". If I had to guess, you're looking at around $300/month, maybe more.

Also, at 19 you may have a good credit record, but it's probably short, too. That doesn't matter too much for insurance quotes if you pay up front.

You'll want to be on your parents' policy.

Also, get NAME BRAND insurance. You actually want them to help you when the worst happens...many cheaper companies either deny payment or hassle you. Others will drop you for anything. One important thing is not to lie to them...if you drive 10,000 miles a year, do not say it is a pleasure vehicle; if you have an accident and they figure out you lied, they WILL deny payment. Remember, YOU are responsible for payment in an accident, NOT the insurance.

What others are paying to insure their S2000s is generally irrelevant to how much you will be charged for insurance. There are an almost infinite number of factors and statistics that insurers use to determine how much they will charge to insure you and your car where you live. The only way to find out for sure how much they will charge YOU is to call up a bunch of insurers and get as many quotes as you can.

why does it cost so much? statistics. It really is expensive to insure young drivers. you may feel they are ripping you, but even with high premiums, most still lose $ on young drivers.

If I ran an insurance company I wouldn't even insure younger drivers. Nothing personal, but they cost a lot of money and wind up being subsidized by older drivers.

I agree with those of you who said insurance companies shouldn't insure younger drivers with high performance sports cars. First of all, the average 19 year old will not be able to afford an newer S2000. Second, I don't see how parents are benefiting from buying their son/daughter an S2000 at such a young age. They are only asking for trouble.

to stay on topic, it all depends on a variety of factors? When did you get that last ticket? is it on your record or did you take traffic school? How long have you been driving/licensed/insured? If you can get $300/month, i'd take it

Completely correct.

Call a few places or check online. If you're paying $300/month for an Accord, I somehow don't think it's going to be cheaper for an S2000
