Got credit?
My friend is spending like MAD and not really MAXXING out his cards but he's puttin alot of money right away on his S2K. I feel bad for his SOMEWHAT lack of priority. Dont get me wrong, Ive spent a lot in the past few weeks, juss ask Dickson (AJ-Racing) bout my order last week, but he's goin nuts. Im juss curious if all you guys juss have crazy high payin jobs or you guys are good penny pinchers or juss max s#!t out like my dear ole friend?? I understand the passion that comes along with our vehicles but whas the price of obsession?
I've worked my ass off for the past couple years, sold my previous car nearly a year ago and went without a car for that year and now have the money to buy the car outright. I'm very disciplined with my money compared to my friends though. I doubt many people would do what I've done.

I don't spend much on my car, but I do save 20% of my gross income each year.
I could have a really fast S2000 if I didn't, that's for sure.

If I didn't have mortgage payments, I'd have a supercharger and a second race-stripped AP1 by now.

Thats what chapter 7's are for.
I don't use my credit card for things I can't afford to buy outright. I use it for convenience. I pay the balance off each month.
I don't have a lot of credit in the US - I've only been here for 17 months and most lenders are not interested in giving me a lot of credit up front. I don't need it, though, so who cares?
Back in Canada, I've got a ton of it. When I was in school there, I had to use it, but I haven't used it since.
Right now, I make less than $70K a year so I don't think I've got what most consider a "high paying job".
Oh yeah - my wife wouldn't allow me to blow a few grand on my car for something that wasn't truly needed (for now, at least). I have to get her a dream home (or something remotely similar) before I buy a dream car.
