Default Got layed off on a Tues!

6/26/2001 I watched office space the night before and they said statisticly they will let people go on a Friday! Well next day!!!

A TUESDAY NO LESS!! I heard they cut 70 jobs from my sight. We have offices all over the east coast. Total of 140 were cut!

Well I will be paid for a little while then im going to either be on un-employment or in a new job. So I get the best part of the summer OFF!!!!!!!!

Its so wierd being let go. I went in all ready to work and well I got the day off. I told my self 2 days earlier that in the fall I was either out of this area into another or in a new job outside the company. Looks like that decision was made for me. I am looking it as a vacation and an opportunity to get a new job!(higher paying as well) I was working on my resume 2 days earlier as well thinking HAY YOU GOTTA GET THIS THING UPDATED. Well guess I had a subliminal preminition.

Job market isn't perfect right now but thats whats the summer is for! Market recovery is a great thing!

I only posted this because I saw Mingster as well lost his job. Think of it as an opportunity!

As far as it stands right now.....IM KEEPING THE S2000!!!!!!!!!

No way in hell that im gonna give it up if I can help it.

Sorry to hear about the layoff Pinky. I'm glad you're taking it in stride. I sure hope neither you or Mingster has to give up your ride. You've both had them way too long. The car looks good on you guys .

You have the right attitude, Pinky. It's an opportunity, it is just up to you to find that opportunity.

Way to go!

I would love to be laid off. I will get a vacation plus unemployment. On top of that, I get to spend a few grand of government money for a course (whatever I like!)

Well......no such luck....

I tried my best. I gave them attitude. I yelled at my boss for 2 hours......and I'm still not getting laid off.

This is how it goes in my performance review.
"I am very unhappy with you."
"I am going to give you 10% raise."

Normally I wouldn't complain when I get a raise....but I'm not looking for a raise. I want to be laid off, dammit!

hang in there.....in my rather checkered carreer i've quit once [felt great!!]been laid off[surplused;downsized..] 8 times,i can't really take those personally... [actually had 3 of those companys fold underneath us ..] but only once was i called into the VP's office and told to get my sorry ass off site....the next job always was [and still is ] much better..not to mention severance packages that supplied sorely needed guilt-free vacations......
