Gotta hardwire the V1, can you help me?
The time has come for me to hardwire the V1 into Scarlet. I need to know exactly how to do this.
So, which wires do I splice into which fuse, etc? I'm none too handy with things electrical, so I need as much detail as possible.
Can you help??
TIA!

Click that link. That's what I used and it's awesome. Props to Loki.

A recap:
1. Buy the Valentine hard-wire adaptor.
2. Jam your head into the drivers footwell. The hardest part of the job.
3. wire the hot lead into one of the three unused "slots" in the under-dash fuse box. I think I had to cut off the stock valentine male spade lug and crimp on a female. You need to use a voltmeter to check which lead is "power switched", or bug me tomorrow and I'll go look at my car in the light.
4. Wire the ground lead into the ground screw with about 5 other wires going to it near the fuse box. I'm pretty sure I again used a slightly different (larger) crimp-on connector to do this.
5. Zip tie the hard-wire adaptor someplace out of the way.
6. Run the phone cord to the lower or upper dash, poking it carefully into the existing crevices with some blunt, skinny tool like a screw-driver. I wend to the lower dash, and did not need to wire up the piller, so I don't know if you need to remove the pillar cover if you want the detector mounted high. (note: I know the V1 is supposed to be mounted as high as possible, but I get fine range, and it looks much better, IMHO, low on the dash)

Thanks guys...I really do appreciate it! I'll do it this weekend and post how badly I screw it up, blow the ECU and however many fuses and other vital electrical components...!
I was iffy about hardwiring mine at first, and I procrastinated it for so long. I'm not an electronics guy - I admit that, and I think you stated the same once some time ago - not to worry, you can't screw this one up. You'll see. Doesn't take that long. Might want to get some black plastic ties too - but as a hint, don't tie the wires together/down UNTIL after you hook everything up, give it some slack, but not too much. I didn't give mine too much slack, so if the V1 is mounted too far to the right, it uhhhh, uhhh don't wanna plug in.
