Gotta love "the system" in America - SSI FTW!

Sad, but 8d is right its not just the poor who exploit loopholes.
The next book I'm going to read is called "The Associates," which is about the 4 guys that did most of the major "funding" for the Transcontinental railroad.

Big lesson from Carnegie and Crocker: If you need a lot of money fast, get the government involved.

They typically have stiffer penalties for DUI, and then after a certain number of repeat offenses, they throw you in the mental institution (which means you don't serve a sentence, they have to decide to discharge you).
yeah right, try telling that to city/state employees in NM who have 8+ DUIs, still have a licence, and wreck head-on into families on the highway.

I wish that were the way it worked here, though.

As I said, other countries.

I had two beers in Norway (bad idea - shit's expensive), and my friend says, "We're walking home." Legal limit was something egregiously low, .06 IIRC. And the penalties are substantially stiffer than here (not to mention getting detained there would've really F'd up my flight schedule. )

Why don't you stop bitching and hop on the gravy train, Scot? You'll never beat them, so join 'em.

The rejection rate for ssi initial SSI claims is over 90%. Even people with alegitimate claim generally have to get a lawyer and battle it out for some time.

This guy has no shot.

You seem to attract these people, Scot.

You need to move to some small mormon town in Utah and start over.

How about a DUI while riding a stationary bike at a gym?

Actually, I think it was a drunk in public.
