yeah i heard about that too....
supposedly too violent or something so a recall was placed or they are going to revise current copies and get rid of the hookers or something like that.
also there are codes for this game which make it really really fun ie tank, all weapons, armor, full life, decrease wanted level etc.
if anybodys interested in those codes check out www.gouranga.com

OMG! Nothing....I mean absoflippinlutelynutin pisses me off more than the potential banning of a videogame. Now that the ESRB is in place to offer parents the ability to....*parent*...games should not be banned, re-worked, etc.
I'm 36 years old. I believe I have the right to enjoy whatever legal adult/mature entertainment I desire! If a parent does not wish for their kid to play a game programmed for adults...easy solution: Don't let the kid have it! Is that too hard???
Ooooooh, but w1ngman, they can buy it off the internet now...blah, blah, blah. Fine, look in their room (you know, the place that is part of the parent's mortgage) and seek out and confiscate any items that the child possesses which the parent believes are inappropriate for that child to have. Preferably, destroy those items in their presence so as to drive home the fact that the parent rules the child not the other way around. Oh, and if that doesn't work...beat 'em...hard -- yes, I mean the beligerent child.
Sorry, folks for the soap box. But I've played videogames pretty much all my life. I'm well-adjusted, civil, and sane. I believe, however, that video games require no different controls than that of any other "entertainment" venues such as movie ratings/enforcement, and alcohol ratings/enforcement, and tobacco ratings/enforcement.... Oh, here's a scary one to consider based on *their* logic: We're gonna re-tool S2000s to look and act like bumper-cars so that they'll be safe for kids to drive them.
Want that kinda logic???
Sad...soo sad.

I agree, banning it is damn stupid ... Just R-Rated it or something, simply because if you start to tone it down. You simply end up with a BS version of something not true. Seriously, putting bans on games like that doesn't mean it's gonna change anything.
The only place this game is banned right now is Australia. There are no current plans to ban it here in the US so take a deep breath and calm down. The reason I read that it's banned in Australia is that it is too violent for their most mature rating which is over 15 years old. Since they feel that it's not appropriate for that age group and there's not a rating above that, they can't assign a rating to it making it illegal to sell in Australia. The developer of the game is going to release a revised version for that market early 2002. There are no plans to change the game here in the US.

anybody on the streets but so what? I don't think it's violent ( depends on the age).
