This shows why professional auto racers get paid as much as other sports entertainers. Its the chance you take every time you're in a car.

Its a miracle he survived.

Are there rules that would not allow someone without lower legs to drive a race car? I remember a guy that raced go karts with 1 leg. He had break controls on the wheel. If the feet parts were all drive by wire....he could have it all on the wheel and still race. Would you want to get in a car again?
