Honda's most memorable U.S. television ads, to me, aired back in the late 80s/early 90s. My favorite two TV ads were, in order:
(1) The CRX, just sitting there in the desert. The camera slowly rotates 90 degrees so that the front of the car is pointing straight up... and the car takes off, kicking up dust behind it. The metaphor was a rocket blasting off.
(2) The Accord hanging on the wall in the art gallery, being admired by a visiting man... then the guy mysteriously defies gravity, walks up the wall, gets into it and drives away.
I loved the freshness of Honda's ad campaigns 10 years ago. That seems to have vanished.
