Here is my take to this knock-off parts.

Chinese made turbo and other fake gucci is the culprit of them all. US commerce are not doing a good job policing the fraud imports.

Just check the Chinese made turbo at ebay. Chinese dumped those inferior (quality fraud) turbo in United States by containers. Genuine Garrett/Holset Turbine contained nickle and other precious metals for hardened, same in the compressor. Chinese uses nothing more than a cast iron and plain aluminum at Chinese foundry. They claimed their turbo are balanced (yeah right). The reason Chinese turbo are crapping out is because of the tolerance when they reach the extreme heat. The balance is off due to the metal fraud specification.

You pay more by buying US made turbo and other parts and protect US businesses.

On the other hand, do I feel sorry for GREDDY?
Not a chance, they started making knock-offs too and killed US manufacturing.
