I am in the market for a used laptop steal. I was looking for AMD Athlon XP laptops. Can anybody tell me where cheap ones go for? I have tried eBay but I am on a tight budget of $400 bucks. It isn't going to come easy.

 

www.craigslist.com and search your city or check on ebay or your local newpaper even

You can get a pretty good deal on a refurbished system, I don't know about $400 buck though.

There's no way I'd buy a laptop off of ebay, unless they were local.

 

Try garage sales too - you'd be surprised what people want to sell. I'm sure you can find a half-way decent one there. And you could even haggle w/ them on price.

For like $600 to $700 you can usually wait for Dell to have one of their special deals. $400 is really low for a new laptop that would have XP on it.
