Religion is not always a point for war, but to often it is. If you want to talk about Islam and the history of deaths about, and around the faith, then take the time to read a few history books. There is a monastary that has a hand print and written protection from mohmmad. Brings up some questions,....why if killing and much more is forbidden would he have to go out of his way to protect this place? (which by the way has some of the oldest books in the world, they now have a photocopy set up putting them on the internet for all to read) There is much more in the history then I care to type up here.
You mention history. Well look at The Spanish Inquistion, The Crusades [which I know involved Muslims], Europe's expansion into North and South America, The Mongol Expansion, even World War II. They all have some sort of religious background to them. You make it sound like Islam and Muslims are responsible for everything. Maybe that's not what you meant, but that's what it sounds like.
And what does a monastery's protection have to do with anything? Catholic churches are considered sanctuaries under God's protection. Does that mean God condones violence? Of course not. It acknowledges the fact that bad things happen. Religions are not a map telling people where to go. Like any set of rules or words, it's up to people to interpret them how to will. Some people take them for the best they can, others turn those words into a reason to kill. The latter is in the vast minority and those are the people you seem to think represent all of Islam.

I didn't mean that all wars are about religion literally, but historically more wars are started about religion than anything else. To say that Islam is more "dangerous" is true to that extent, but only because in this day and age, their extremists are also the most fanatical.

A bit more history the years 600 on.(which is also the start of islam) A war between to cities. Instead of finding a way of peace that would be the way of the quran, Muhammad wins by blood. Through out the history there is more years of war then peace. It would have been better to call him a general instead of a prophet. His followers lived by raiding, which is a nice name for stealing and killing.
The topic came to this from the question when is islam going to attack dubai. The golden ages/cities/states in islam end from within not often from the outside.
I think Dubai will be a nice tourist place, I wouldn't mind going there once to see all the cool buildings or go riding around in the desert in a Land Cruiser. Would be a fun week. My uncle took his two daughters there and they had a blast. Besides, it's fun to travel.

It is more you have missed the point. What is in the quran and what the leaders are teaching is the point. As in history, what was being said in the quran and what the leaders were doing were very far apart. This is not to say there is not some out there teaching what is right, or at least hope there is some that do.
