I would like to know where you can get a PS2 for $250
The best price I've seen is $329 with the game and you still need a memory card.

The game rocks.

I was just at Costco a few days ago and they had the PS2 with GT3 and another game and the memory card for $429.99. I was very tempted to get it.

Oct. Nov. PS2 will go down to $200 to compete with the release of Xbox and Gamecube. Save a couple of bucks.

I've been debating this exact issue since GT3 came out. I have Dreamcast and F355 Challenge, Test Drive LeMans, Sega GT and a few other games.

I've played F355 and Test Drive LeMans until I can't play anymore. I've also played GT1 and GT2 (great games for their time graphics wise).

So, I just saw a review of GT3 and the reviewer said the cars do not handle like the real cars. Instead, they created a physics model and made the cars handle in comparison to other cars in the game. For example, on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the worst and 10 being the best) an S2000 would score an 8 in handling and an NSX a 10.

I'm not sure if that's true, but that's what is keeping me from dropping the cash on a PS2, GT3, second controller and a memory card (roughly $400).

I did play it briefly in Toys R Us and the S2000 didn't sound like a real S2000. I couldn't really get a feel for the handling in a few minutes.

Any thoughts on the handling issue?

Thanks,
Andrew

I highly recommend it! If not just for GT3 then at least for Madden 2002, very cool. The replays are AWSOME! The shot freezes and the camera rotates around the receivers.
And the people talking about the price, hellooo... your ride was at least $30k and you're whining about the price of a tire.
Buy it if you're a true video game lover.

FYI, Aaron bought the PS2 GT3 pack last night. We stayed up late playing it after a few glasses of wine so we were driving drunk at high speeds in our S2000's, in the game that is.

Aye... I broke down and bought the PS2+GT3 package. I noticed in the PS2 there is a texture setting to allow for "normal" or "smooth"... I turned smooth on..and the game looks just damn amazing.
