GT4 lives up to the hype! (This can be a spoiler for some)

When I was in Japan I just bought a PS2 there and got GT3 Concepts. This is the one where you can drive the Honda Dualnote and the Toyota Pods.

The Dualnote, being a hybrid, gives you extra boost monitered by a boost gauge and can be replenished by braking. The Pods are interesting because they are a cross between a toy dog and a car complete with wagging tail. But the front of it has these lights that sense your driving emotion and change colors based on that emotion.

Damn I wanna play GT4.

For those who were asking and wondering, according to IGN.com, GT4 isn't due out until April 2004.

that may also be changed with the US release too.

I've just noticed with GT, if there are two different variations of a car, they usually have both.

Just got all golds in the yellow section and got the Mazda concept car. Nothing really special about this one... just looks funny.

My cars did that all the time in GT3.

What they need is some sort of vehicle damage, which is actually visible and measurable (with some sort of graph like for tire wear)...

It'll help weed out the "ride the wall" or "use the car in front as auxiliary brake" or grass-cutting drivers...

Launches are very important - too many revs and you'll spin on the spot, too little and you'll bog.
Those aren't very new.

Take most any lowered or "race" car (C5R vette comes to mind) up the climbing jump section in Seattle and you'll scrape and spark.

Launches were important in GT3 too, I remember hating the licence test w/ the red R33 Skyline where you had to get a perfect launch + a perfect line to get a gold medal. Then again, you only launch once a race, so I doubt it will be become that big of a deal...

I had heard, at least on earlier GT versions, that the car companies wouldn't allow Polophony Digital to actually have car damage. They didn't like seeing their prized automobiles destroyed, so in order to grant licensing, they had to turn the damage off.

Or so I've heard.

To get the last four cars you have to get all the gold cups in each colored section. So far I have 2 out of 4. The first one in the green section is very entertaining. As mentioned before it looks like a concept F1 car from Toyota, but has one gear. You can go as fast in reverse as going forward and you can take it on the rally courses. It's amusing to jump this thing backwards on the grand canyon course!
